I'm an electrician so I've seen all variations of these flat panel LED spotlights. But these were a surprise. The install is interesting in that they still have the typical dual springs on the fixture itself but the fixture literally sits on top of the drywall. Not flush. There's a round paper template to trace but be stingy when cutting because that fixture needs to cover up your hole. The driver still slips up into the void as per usual.The coolest part is that the fixture head is about a 1/4" thick (not paper thin metal as usual) so it has a warm white 'night light' inside of it. When you switch the fixture off and quickly turn it on again it turn just that night light on. And they give off just the right amount to give a warm down glow below.I installed them for family and they typically like bright 5k output but at night they switch to the nightlight mode (2700k) and watch TV. It looks great.Just know that if you have an uneven surface (stipple) then it might look a little wonky around the edges. Try not to be too judgy ? I just wonder about longevity. None of our wholesalers carry these so that means our vast typical high end manufacturers mustn't be producing them?
