I am using the Palladia Cherry night stand as a little table for a coffee maker in my office. From a distance, this looks like a pretty high class piece of furniture. It is typical press board put-it-together yourself furniture though. It took a couple of hours to put together. There are many steps, many parts, and many fasteners. A couple of the parts are not labeled, but it is clear from the diagrams in the instructions what is what. Everything went together easily except for the last step involving the drawer. There are three holes for the side rails that attach to the side of the drawer, probably because the rails are used for many different models of furniture. Use holes #1 and #3, not hole #2. Hole #3 is adjustable. Using hole #2 as I mistakenly did (my fault!), made it so the drawer was about 1/8 of an inch too high and wouldn't close. On the plus side, this night stand is cheap to buy, looks good, and is very sturdy.Some pointers with this type of furniture, which I would call mid-range in quality for its type:Take your time and identify the parts and proper alignment before inserting any screws as this stuff doesn't cope well with being taken apart and put back together again--Work on a carpeted surface or a towel as the laminate furniture surfaces will scratch easily--Pay attention to the weight restrictions in the assembly guide (max weight of 15 lbs in the drawer, 40 lbs on the lower shelf, and 40 lbs on top is probably about right as recommended)--Do not use power tools for assembly unless you have used a power screwdriver before, not a drill doubling as a screwdriver (the instructions recommend against using any power tool, probably because it only takes one slip and the whole piece is ruined)--The holes generally line up pretty close, but it is best to not fasten screws down tight until all of the parts are lined up properly--Install some type of foot slider that you purchase yourself underneath or the press board will come apart if the furniture is dragged away from a wall--Clean once in a while with Windex or a damp cloth (this isn't real wood veneer anywhere on it, it's plastic photographs of wood glued to chip board)This Sauder Palladia Night Stand is very nice looking and the price is decent. The night stand can manage to be so cheap due to the fact that it is made out of particle board. As long as you don't let the night stand to get wet or scratch anything against it you shouldn't have any issues with the materials. The finish is a very nice cherry wood color. The night stand has one drawer and the front open shelf.The night stand is built with additional pieces that made this a more sturdy night stand. It's not light while not being too heavy where it is hard to move. The night stand doesn't wobble in any way and can't be knocked over easily. The quality of the actual pieces of the night stand are by no means perfect though. A few of the edges namely on the front of the drawer isn't perfect so you can see a bit of the non-finished coloring coming through on some edges. This isn't a large detraction from the piece as long as you aren't looking too closely at it.This night stand offers plenty of room on the top of it as well as in the drawer, and on the bottom open shelf. I have plenty of room on the top to place everything I would need on it and the drawer and bottom shelf provides ample additional room. The drawer slides out smoothly without requiring force to open and close.The instructions that were included were detailed enough where I didn't have any issues building this night stand. The night stand was packaged very well with no damage to any piece and there weren't any missing pieces. There was one piece that split while screwing it into place unfortunately which I have attached a picture of. Sauder does provide a one year warranty on their products so I was able to receive a replacement piece by emailing them directly on their website. Beyond the one split piece I didn't have any issues building the night stand.Overall I am pleased with this night stand and would recommend it to others.When i first received this night stand it was well packaged. the sided of the box were reinforced and there was a thick sheet of plastic covering it whole. i then opened the box and took out all the required parts to get started with assembly. my first thought was 'omg thats a lot of stuff to put together!'. It does have a decent amount of fixing to create the night stand but don't let that overwhelm you. it looks real complicated at first sight but when you open the guide, which is real easy to read and understand, the assembly process is very easy and simple but it is time consuming. i am not a pro at do it yourself furniture and to be honest this is the second piece of assembly required furniture. it took me about an hour and half to complete each night stand, i bought two, so a total of about 3.5 hours give or take. A hammer and screw driver is required and not included.the finished product its beautiful. nice cherry color. i was kinda hesitant to buy this because i didn't know how the color of the stand would be. a lot of times when you don't see the product yourself it normally is darker or lighter in color. this cherry color matched my bed room furniture perfectly. nice solid color. the finish look is just like the picture shown. i am very pleased with the way it looks and the quality of the stand. i wouldnt put anything to heavy on it and i think the suggested weight is 40 lbs so keep in mind how much stuff weights. im just using it for a lamp and small electronics.i would suggest this to anyone who enjoys or doesn't mind need to assemble products. at first sight it seems like a lot of pieces but once its done you'll fee a sense of accomplishment.I just completed assembly of the 4 Drawer Chest and two Night Stands I purchased. I now have fine-looking and functional bedroom furniture.The instructions manuals are very well designed. Thoughtful step by step diagrams with proper language to keep on track.The materials and hardware are well made. The quality of workmanship is also top notch. Every fastener or screw fit exactly as required when the pieces were joined. This was impressive to me.I did have one issue with the Night Stands. The drawers did not slide smoothly on the tracks. After double checking my assembly I decided to call Sauder Customer Service.Again I am totally impressed. Without delay they sent (without cost) new drawer slides, screws and spacers to extend the width and solve the binding problem. Delivery took nine days from Ohio USA to BC Canada. Kudos to Jeanie and Randy at Customer Service.Tips:Sauder has posted several short videos on You Tube that give helpful advice on key aspects of assembly.The laminated surfaces look great and authentic. But the lighter color board beneath is visible on some seams. At Home Depot I bought a package of Furniture Repair Marker Pens to color these seams. Now the furniture looks completely solid.Without hesitation I am completely happy with this purchase and looking forward to enjoying many years use from these pieces.Purchased these as end tables for my living room. Already had the matching TV stand and two bookcases - it really finishes off my living room nicely.Assembly takes about an hour. Instructions are clear (had to laugh when about half way through, they suggest a nacho break) and the finished product looks very high end.Shipping was free and quick and arrived the day promised. Excellent packaging, so no worries of damages during transit.All in all, a very good purchase and I would recommend Sauder Palladia furniture to anyone.Arrived on time has described however a big pain to put together and drawer doesn’t open catching on upper left sideBeautiful bedside table.
